The National Committee for Approval and Control (CNAC) proposed the adoption of a legislative text banning the import, the distribution and the use of all plant protection products containing endosulfan.

Endosulfan has a high acute toxicity and the risk of intoxication for users in the local conditions of use in Benin is considered unacceptable.

Endosulfan is considered highly toxic for fish and for certain aquatic invertebrates. The risk of environmental impact for surface waters in cotton areas in Benin is unacceptable.
